Mark Reneau served as the concertmaster for nearly the entire forty-year history of the Chattanooga Bach Choir, beginning under founding director J. James Greasby in the 1980’s. In recognition of Mark’s contribution to the choir over the decades, the Chattanooga Bach Choir Board is undertaking the funding of the concertmaster chair in Mark’s honor. The endowment of this chair is another step in securing the financial position of the Chattanooga Bach Choir for the future.
We invite you to participate in this project by making a tax-deductible financial gift toward the chair. You may do so by clicking here, which will take you to the page where you will find this special opportunity to donate now. If you prefer, you may mail your gift to the Chattanooga Bach Choir at

This is an important expression of thanks to Mark and is an opportunity to honor the legacy he has helped build in the musical fabric of Chattanooga. No gift is too small to participate in this recognition.
We also invite you to plan to join us to celebrate Mark’s service at the March 29, 2025 concert, where Mark will be the featured violin soloist along with the choir and orchestra in Ludwig van Beethoven’s monumental, “Missa Solemnis”. This work, Beethoven’s Opus 123, is celebrating the 201st anniversary of its April 7, 1824 premier.
